  6.      Welcome to version 1.0b of WINFLY, the Frequent Flyer
  7. Database!  I don't know about you, but I got so tired of
  8. trying different PIM's and Database programs looking for
  9. some way to keep track of my Frequent Flyer miles.  Granted,
  10. there are more important things in life than FF Miles, but
  11. hey, a free trip is a free trip {grin}.  I figured that, as
  12. long as I was learning VB, I might as well program what I
  13. was looking for.    WINFLY maintains Frequent Flyer Mileage
  14. earned and redeemed for the following Airlines:  AMERICAN,
  15. CONTINENTAL, DELTA, TWA, USAIR, and UNITED.  If I've missed
  16. one of your favorites, when you register, let me know which
  17. one and I'll update it within a week (or two) and send you
  18. (electronically) the update.

  39. 1.  DIRECTIONS:
  40.  
  41.      a.  This is really the easiest part of all.  The
  42. program is pretty self explanetory, but I'll cover the
  43. basics.
  44.  
  45.      b.  FILE:  Just EXIT here, all file handling is done
  46. within the AIRLINES.
  47.  
  48.      c.  AIRLINES:  The heart of the program:
  49.  
  50.           (1)  At the top you'll see which airlines you
  51. selected, how many entries are contained in the data and
  52. your current balance.
  53.  
  54.           (2)  Next is the Main viewing screen.  It will
  55. contain all of the data you enter below.  You may notice
  56. that the text in the screen may be edited.  However, the
  57. editing is NOT saved to disk......Best just left alone {g}.
  58.  
  59.           (3)  DATE:  Enter the date of travel, as listed in
  60. your FF statement using numbers only (MMDDYY).  The dashes
  61. are taken care of for you.
  62.  
  63.           (4)  FLIGHT/REDEEM:  Limited space is available
  64. for information here, though plenty sufficient.  Flight
  65. examples are (for Delta)  DL1565, DL409, etc.  IMPORTANT:
  66. If your redeeming miles, you must type "REDEEM" in this
  67. line, NOTHING ELSE.  This sets up the proper itinerary
  68. screen later.
  69.  
  70.           (5)  CLASS:  Wish it were always FIRST!!!  Enter
  71. the single or double digit entries provided by your
  72. statement, i.e. "F", or "Y", or "AG" (used when redeeming
  73. miles on DELTA).
  74.  
  75.           (6)  ITINERARY:  For Flights entered in (4) above,
  76. space is provided for three letter codes for 'From' and
  77. 'To', i.e. BWI - DFW (Baltimore to Dallas Fort Worth).  The
  78. single dash is automatically provided.  IF REDEEM is entered
  79. in (4) above, this line is reserved for the redemption code
  80. provided by most airlines.  Up to 15 letters and numbers may
  81. be entered here.

  83.           (7)  MILES:  This is the basic miles you earned
  84. for the flight.
  85.  
  86.           (8)  BONUS:  This is for any special Bonus miles
  87. added.
  88.  
  89.           (9)  DEDUCTED:  Used with REDEEM......How many
  90. miles did that free trip cost you? {g}
  91.  
  92.      d.  Starting Balance:  This screen, when used first, will allow
  93. you to begin with any balance you choose.  IMPORTANT:  If used after 
  94. data has already been entered, it will create a new balance and 
  95. erase all data, effectively starting over.

  98.      e.  Help:  Brings up these directions in a window.

  100.           (1)  Register:  After you register, I'll send
  101. everything needed to fill in the blanks! (See REGISTERING
  102. SHAREWARE below)

  108. 2.  REGISTERING SHAREWARE:

  110.      a.  Shareware's a great concept.  Try before you buy!!!
  111. If you're unhappy with, or don't need WINFLY.....simply
  112. delete all copies you have and we'll call it even.

  114.      b.  However, if, after 15 days, you decide to keep
  115. WINFLY.  You must register the progam with me and pay the
  116. (very small) fee.....$12.00.

  118.      c.  HOW TO REGISTER:

  161. 4.  WHAT'S COMING:  Winfly v2.0:  I'm about halfway finished
  162. with v2.0 with TONs of changes.  Users will be able to
  163. create their own Airline Databases (Or Hotel, Rental Car,
  164. etc).  Keep track of all necessary data, Base Miles,
  165. Expiration Dates, Phone Numbers, Acct Numbers, etc.  Auto-
  166. Dial (with modem) direct from within Winfly.  Remember, All
  167. upgrades are FREE to registered users.
